The task
Sleep apps promise a lot and survive on the phone briefly: their scenarios are invented for the user rather than observed from them. The job was to rebuild the product around how people actually behave — which meant asking them first.
The approach
We started with interviews: how people really go to bed, wake up and what they want to understand about their sleep. The answers disagreed with the app's original journey, so we reworked the journey instead of decorating it. Only then did screen design begin.
What we did
Research. User interviews: habits, motivation, and the moments where sleep apps get abandoned.
A reworked journey. The user path rebuilt on interview data rather than assumptions.
75+ screens. The full journey designed: onboarding, daily states, statistics and settings.
The result
- the product is built on users' words, not guesses
- the journey matches real habits
- 75+ screens cover the path end to end, no blank spots
