The task
RUN DAMN is a running club in Moscow founded by Nicole Remezok: a community bringing together people for whom running is not just a workout. The mark and visual language needed to speak the language of street culture rather than sports formalism.
The approach
The starting question was how to combine running with street culture. The answer was a custom stencil typeface, Patrona Plain, built specifically for the project with ten style sets — from Monumental and Condensed to Art Deco, Bauhaus, Din and Brutal. The mark itself is built on counterforms so it can function as an actual stencil, and a simplified version of the logotype was designed for small formats (under 7 cm / 530 px). The branding keeps the metaphor of running-track markings: stencilled marks on a track set a monotonous rhythm, but the pace of the elements inside that structure varies — just like every runner does.
The result
- a contour-form stencil logo plus a simplified version for small applications
- a custom typeface, Patrona Plain, with ten style sets
- the identity applied across merchandise (t-shirts, hoodies) and the club's promotional materials
- the full case is published on Behance — link below
