## The task

The Centre of Unique Craftsmanship brings together the craftspeople, artists, designers and other members of Tatarstan's creative industries. The platform introduces its residents and workshops, helps people find events, sign up for activities and engage with the community.

The centre's name exists in two languages at once, Russian and Tatar. The platform talks about Tatar craft, and our position was that the visual language should carry that rather than stay neutral.

What was needed was not a brochure site but a platform with user roles, personal accounts and an admin panel — with two months for everything.

## The solution

We handled the deadline through sequence. First we developed the design system, then assembled the pages and user scenarios on top of it. Reusable components sped up the work, simplified sign-off and laid a base for developing the platform further without revisiting fundamental decisions.

The cultural code came from ornament. Traditional Tatar ornaments produced the logo's drawing, and every element in it carries a meaning: the continuity of life, the endurance of tradition, beauty and harmony, the energy of life. The mark is not a stylisation of folk motifs but a construction assembled out of meanings.

The palette rests on a deep red and an olive #A0A467, with a near-black #161C1C and a light ground. The typeface is Tilda Sans. The first screen is filled by a frame in national costume and the line about preserving culture and creating the future.

## What we did

**Design system.** A single visual language for the whole platform: components, palette, typography, ornamental graphics.

**Logo.** A mark built on traditional Tatar ornaments, with the meaning of each element written out, and a bilingual lockup.

**Platform structure.** Sections covering life at the centre, the masters' work, the business programme, the spaces, an about section and a route to becoming a resident.

**Residents and workshops.** Cards for the masters and their workshops — the reason the platform exists.

**Events and sign-up.** A schedule with dates and times, open-registration statuses and a route into signing up for an activity.

**Spaces.** A section on the centre's venues and how to work with them.

**Three roles.** Administrators, residents and visitors, each with its own set of screens and permissions.

**Accounts and admin panel.** Requests, tickets and statuses for every role, and an admin panel for the centre's team. Personal data is handled to the requirements of Russia's 152-FZ.

**Interface screens.** A header with search, cards, filters and a calendar — all assembled from the system's components.

## The result

A platform that introduces residents and workshops, shows what is happening and lets people sign up — working as a way into the community rather than as the centre's business card.

The design system, built first, laid a base for developing the platform further without revisiting fundamental decisions.

The project was made by a team of eight in two months. Prostor was responsible for design; development was handled by our partner Continental.
