## The task

Harey Zahav is a pioneer residential developer in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. The company is known for its expertise in building communities from scratch — religious or mixed — and selects its residents carefully to create a family-oriented, well-being environment.

We developed the website for Karnei Shomron, a project of duplexes with private gardens. The main task was set out directly: develop a design aimed at the US audience and convey the important advantages of buying real estate in the area.

Our reading was that a buyer like that decides remotely: without a trip to the site, without a walk down the street, without a word with the neighbours. So the website has to supply all of it.

## The solution

We put the emphasis not on the houses but on the community. Within the project we gave attention to every aspect: the location, the nature and what living in this village is actually like.

The key block is a portrait of the place in figures and facts. 11,000 residents. The make-up of the community: 20% Haredi, 50% National Religious, 30% secular. A relatively young population, with approximately 40% of residents under the age of 18. A close-knit and supportive community with many social and cultural activities. A thriving local economy supported by agriculture, small businesses and services catering to its residents and neighbouring settlements.

That is the kind of knowledge normally picked up on the spot.

For visualisation and a fuller sense of the project we created a map showing the nearby towns and landmarks.

The architecture is presented through an American reference: the residences draw on the elegance and practicality of American homes, and the gable form points back to the archetype of a house. The case carries a research spread on Robert Venturi — the American architect and Pritzker laureate — and a sequence showing how the form of his house became the Karnei Shomron mark. The palette is olive green with cream, and an olive branch runs through as a graphic motif.

## What we did

**Project website.** The Karnei Shomron page with its first screen, a choose-your-house control and street-level renders.

**Portrait of the community.** Blocks on the residents, the religious make-up, the age profile and the character of the community.

**Map of the surroundings.** A drawn map with the nearby towns and landmarks, made for visualisation and a fuller sense of the project.

**Village plan.** A layout of 26 duplexes with private gardens, and the choice of a specific house.

**About the developer.** Who Harey Zahav is and how the company builds communities.

**Architecture section.** Finishes, planning solutions and an explanation of why the houses look the way they do.

**Mobile.** The same path on a phone: the place, the community, the house, the enquiry.

## The result

A site from which an American buyer understands not only a floor plan but where they are moving: who lives nearby, what the village does and what surrounds it.

The project was featured among the best #madeontilda sites. The site runs at kshomron.com.
