## The task

BYRD is a digital assistant and travel navigator that supports users through every stage of their journey — from the first spark of inspiration to the moment they return home. It is more than just a planner or a map: it is an ecosystem that thinks alongside the traveller, helps make decisions, and makes the entire trip easier, more flexible and more enjoyable.

The product goal was stated as building a convenient, intuitive and technological platform that brings planning, organising and accompanying a trip into one place — without having to jump between different apps and services.

There was no client and no brief here: the agency built the concept itself.

## The solution

The name came before the interface. The app is named after Richard Evelyn Byrd, the American aviator and polar explorer. We put it in one line: a name is a story, and every story begins with a name.

The mark grew out of the name. The logo symbolises both the many paths a person encounters on their journey and a bird with outstretched wings, soaring toward discovery and new experiences. The mark is built from three crossing bars and reads as a crossroads and as a silhouette in flight at once.

Visually the project sits on a light base with a single bright orange and a system of tile-cards: city, air humidity, dates and travel-scenario tags — active, sport, detox, rest.

## What we did

**Selections by interests.** Choosing a trip by your current state: if you're looking to relax and recharge, the app offers destinations perfect for complete unwinding and digital detox — slow-paced and stress-free. If you're chasing adventure, you'll find more extreme routes designed for active travel and vivid experiences.

**Personal recommendations.** All trips are saved in the profile, and the system analyses preferences to recommend destinations more accurately: the more you travel, the better the app understands what you enjoy.

**Pix, the AI assistant.** A character of its own with a pixel avatar, introducing itself as the AI there to help pass the time on holiday.

**Secret location.** A format in which one destination stays a surprise until the very end: where you are flying and where you will be staying is revealed only at the moment of boarding. The interface carries the warning outright — this travel format is extreme and suitable only for experienced travellers.

**Profile.** A traveller's card with the statistics: distance covered, cities explored, days on the road, longest trip, favourite destination and the country visited most often.

**Awards.** An achievement system: missions from the AI assistant, a rising rating and unlocked opportunities — including access to secret locations and additional app features. The first stamp is given for the first country outside your homeland.

**Notifications.** Status feeds: ticket's ready, new message, an alert counter.

## The result

A concept of 50+ screens covering a trip end to end: inspiration, selection, documents, support on the road and a return with the statistics collected.

The project was made by Ruslan Kochubarov, Aleksandr Zhukov, Kirill Pilipenko and Anfisa Naumova.

The full breakdown is published on Behance and on Dprofile, where it carries the Recommended badge. Links below.
